GWBME is a professional organization and sense of community for members of the UMN BME Department and those doing BME research. Our group is centered around 3 main goals:

1. Professional development - we aim to provide professional development opportunities for academia, industry, and beyond to our members
2. Outreach - we seek to inspire future scientists by engaging with our community as STEM ambassadors through outreach programming
3. Internal programming - we organize and sponsor events that foster a community of scientists and promote a sense of belonging for our members
